Keep It Loose comes from a name I wrote on one of my barrels during harvest and serves as a reminder not to take life too seriously sometimes but to have fun and just Keep It Loose.
Made from the varietal Colombar as base wine it is blended with Grenache Blanc and forms part of the Pool Wine Series. These wines are fun and produced in a fresher style with light extraction of flavours and good acidity.
Keep It Loose was made alternatively which means that no additives, except a small amount of sulphur, was added and a very minimalistic approach was followed when making the wine. The Colombar vineyard is a 35 year old, unirrigated bushvines from the Riebeek Kasteel area in Swartland.
The Grenache Blanc comes from the more sandy soils of the Paardeberg.
During harvest the grapes were hand picked early for freshness, natural acidity and lower alcohol levels and the wines were aged in small oak barrel before bottled in July 2021"

About the Winemaker
Growing up on the South-West coastline of South Africa, surfing and enjoying the ocean, Namibian-born winemaker and viticulturist MC Stander entered the wine scene almost by chance in 2006.
Quickly opting to part ways from larger-scale production in 2010, MC realised his passion for natural winemaking and organic farming at Joostenberg Wines. From there, he continued to work with small producers, and later the independent winemakers in Swartland. In 2018, continuously drawn to a more ‘hands on’ approach, MC founded (ℓ) equinox wines. Working with grape growers from Swartland, (ℓ) equinox aims to create a liquid that is both balanced and natural.
Inspired by the Beaujolais area in France, MC makes use of practices such as carbonic fermentation, whole bunches and allowing skin maceration on his white wines, aiming to create a unique product that reflects where it comes from and what it is. Enjoy.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at 10am in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
Shipping cost is 18 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value!
At $18, we have some of the most competitive shipping rates compared to other low-intervention wine e-commerce, which can range from $20-$25 a box. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. As a small business, we are simply unable to offer free shipping. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
