If you are looking for a red that both you and your Aunt Jackie can enjoy together, so that you'll at least both have a buzz before Politics come up, look no further than this gem of a Cabernet Sauvignon by Field Recordings.
Honestly, really delicious and sophisticated wine. Don't knock it for being Cab Sauv. Aged appropriately, no mega purple bullshit, Neutral Oak instead of new French oak. Smallest amount of Petit Verdot to round out the flavor.
“Local knowledge. Traditional techniques. Some might say the California’s Central Coast is the happiest place on earth. Some might even compare it to Peter Pan’s Neverland. We live here, so we’re a little biased, but we can’t help but agree with this sentiment. A truly Californian Cabernet made with local knowledge and traditional techniques, Neverland is a special blend from 5 different vineyards within Santa Barbara County.”
Enjoy at around 60 degrees
Origin: Santa Barbara, CA, USA
USNW Classification: Natural
Varietal & Type: 98% Cabernet Sauvignon 2% Petit Verdot
The 2018 Neverland Cabernet Sauvignon is tight-knit and well-built. TASTING NOTES: This wine exhibits aromas and flavors of black fruit, licorice, and cassis.
Serve it with a grilled, well-marbled ribeye or Portobello Mushroom
About the Winemaker
Field Recordings is winemaker Andrew Jones’ personal catalog of the people and places he values most. Our wines are all about the flavor — with none of the pretension.
Spending his days as a vine nursery fieldman planning and planting vineyards for farmers all over California, Andrew is sometimes offered small lots of their best fruit on the side. Having stood in just about every vineyard on the Central Coast, he’s all about finding those underdogs with untapped potential. As friendships are made and opportunities are embraced, Andrew produces small quantities of soulful wine from these unusual, quiet vineyards.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at 10am in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
Shipping cost is 18 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value!
At $18, we have some of the most competitive shipping rates compared to other low-intervention wine e-commerce, which can range from $20-$25 a box. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. As a small business, we are simply unable to offer free shipping. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
