Like all wines from Trediberri, the Barolo possesses a thorough line of elegance and purity. Notable for its drinkability and finesse, even at a young age, there is no doubt that this wine will develop gracefully over the years. Trediberri aims for a "weightless" power to the wine, which is meant to typify the best of La Morra.

About the Winemaker

Trediberri ('three from Berri') is a Barolo winery started in 2007 by three partners: Nicola Oberto, his father Federico Oberto, and Vladimiro Rambaldi. They purchased a 5-hectare plot in the Cru of Berri on the extreme western edge of La Morra. Their first commercial vintage was 2011, but they've quickly become one of the most exciting newcomers in Piedmont.

Nicola is the dynamic driving force behind the project—a young, passionate, wine-loving producer with deep knowledge of great wine. His father Federico brings the wisdom of ages from his many years as cellar master at the famed Renato Ratti winery (1970s-2005), and contributed family holdings of 2.8 hectares in the celebrated Crus of Rocche dell'Annunziata and Torriglione.

Farming & Cellar: The Berri vineyard has optimum elevation and exposition, river-influenced microclimate, and pebble-strewn clay with sandstone bands over limestone bedrock. Baroli are produced using classical Piedmontese methods: long maceration (3+ weeks) in concrete, followed by two years aging in large botti grandi. Some vintages include stem inclusion for complexity. 'There are no recipes,' they say—macerations and aging vary according to vintage.
