Beaujolais Chenas Les Carrieres
Beaujolais Chenas Les Carrieres
Pretty and perfumed, the 2019 Chénas Les Carrières wafts from the glass with notes of sweet berry fruit, potpourri, peonies and spices. Medium-bodied, pure and lively, with fine tannins and lively acids, despite the warm conditions, it's surprisingly reminiscent of the Thillardon brothers' 2016 vintage.

About the Winemaker
Domaine Thillardon, located in Chénas—the smallest of the ten Beaujolais Crus—represents the next generation of natural wine pioneers in the region.
Paul-Henri Thillardon took over the family domaine and has become one of the most exciting young winemakers in Beaujolais. Following the path blazed by mentors like Jean Foillard and Marcel Lapierre, Paul-Henri brings fresh energy to traditional Gamay winemaking, producing wines of remarkable purity and terroir expression from his family's exceptional sites in Chénas.
Farming & Cellar: The domaine practices organic viticulture and whole-cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts, following the Beaujolais naturel tradition. Paul-Henri's gentle extraction and minimal intervention in the cellar result in wines that are both immediately approachable and capable of graceful aging, expressing the granitic soils and elevated sites of Chénas with clarity and precision.
