About the Winemaker
Julien Altaber is a natural winemaker based in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy, crafting wines under his own label and through Domaine de Chassorney after taking over from legendary vigneron Frédéric Cossard.
In 2016, Julien assumed management of Domaine de Chassorney (renamed from Domaine de Derain), continuing Cossard's work with 6 hectares of biodynamic vines in the Côte de Beaune. He also operates Domaine Sextant, producing wines from purchased grapes across Burgundy. His wines have earned praise for their purity and energy.
Farming & Cellar: All vineyards are farmed biodynamically with certification. Julien practices whole-cluster fermentation where appropriate, native yeast fermentation, and extended élevage in neutral oak. Wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfites.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
Shipping cost is 35 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value! Remember, all orders over $200 get FREE SHIPPING!
At $35, shipping cost is on par with most wine ecommerce. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
