About the Winemaker
La Ferme du Vert ("The Green Farm") is a family estate located on the edge of the Grésigne forest in the Tarn region of Southwest France. The domaine produces wines from indigenous Gaillac grape varieties that capture the historic terroir of this ancient wine region.
Jérôme Galaup represents the fourth generation of his family in winemaking, taking over the estate in 2017. Prior to inheriting the domaine, he refined his craft at the legendary Plageoles estate, working alongside Robert Plageoles—the guardian of Gaillac's indigenous grape varieties—and his sons.
Farming & Cellar: Jérôme cultivates seven hectares of native Gaillac varieties including Duras, Mauzac, Prunelard, and Fer Servadou. The vineyard philosophy blends traditional farming wisdom with modern sustainability practices. Wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts and made with minimal intervention, resulting in distinctive bottles that merge heritage with contemporary flair.
