About the Winemaker

Domaine Tessier (Philippe et Simon Tessier) is a 26-hectare family estate in the heart of the Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny appellations in the Loire Valley, France. Located on the famous Route des Châteaux, the estate was created by Roger Tessier in 1961 and is now led by the third generation.

Philippe Tessier took over the domaine from his father Roger in 1981, and in February 2020, his son Simon assumed leadership, continuing the family legacy. The estate produces wines from two appellations: AOC Cour-Cheverny (featuring the rare local Romorantin grape) and AOC Cheverny in white, rosé, and red. The microclimate is influenced by the Loire River and the surrounding forests of Cheverny, Chambord, and Sologne.

Farming & Cellar: The vineyard has been certified organic (ECOCERT) since 1998, refusing chemical inputs and using mechanical soil cultivation to maintain living, biodiverse soils. Manual harvest allows rigorous sorting and whole grape arrival at the winery. Vinification proceeds without sulfur before fermentation, without yeasting, enzymes, or chemical corrections—just vigilance and precise monitoring. Only minimal sulfur is added during blending and bottling (less than 50mg/l total), and filtration is gentle and never systematic.

US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.

Shipping cost is 35 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value! Remember, all orders over $200 get FREE SHIPPING!

At $35, shipping cost is on par with most wine ecommerce. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
