About the Winemaker
Claus Preisinger is one of Austria's most influential natural winemakers, working on the north shore of Lake Neusiedl in the Burgenland town of Gols since 2002.
Born in 1980, Claus made his first wine at twenty. By 2004, he became the youngest member of the prestigious Pannobile association. Sulfite-sensitive himself, he began reducing SO? levels early, pioneering Austria's amphora movement.
Farming & Cellar: Biodynamic since 2006 (Respekt Biodyn certified), farming 19 hectares across 64 micro-parcels. No cultured yeast, no fining, no filtration, minimal or zero sulfur. Many wines aged in 1000L amphorae rather than oak—a reduction to essentials: grape and soil.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
