About the Winemaker
Grain par Grain is a natural wine project created by Caroline Ledédenté in Artemare, in the southern Bugey region of France. She works just two hectares of vineyards scattered across the area, producing wines of rare clarity, focus, and finesse.
Caroline discovered natural wine while working as a waitress in Paris wine bars with excellent natural wine selections. A pivotal moment came at a Vinisat wine fair when she tasted Patrick Desplat's cuvée Anne Françoise Joseph 2013—'Energy drowning into me, pure and full of length.' After studying organic winemaking in Jura and apprenticing with Grégoire Perron in Bugey, she fell in love with the region's white wines and couldn't imagine settling anywhere else.
Farming & Cellar: Caroline seeks small, isolated parcels of native varieties like Molette, Mondeuse, and Altesse, often with fruit trees among the vines. She believes trees bring special microclimates and animal life that impact the ground's characteristics. All wines are made without sulfites, addressing the senses differently—'My heart beats instantly. I am free of suspicion.' Her 2018 vintage was her first, and despite limited land, her curiosity produces a myriad of cuvées in tiny quantities.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
Shipping cost is 35 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value! Remember, all orders over $200 get FREE SHIPPING!
At $35, shipping cost is on par with most wine ecommerce. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
