Rioja Orlegi
Rioja Orlegi
Luberri Orlegi is the reference point for traditional, light-bodied, fruit-forward wines of Rioja Alavesa. It is produced from two estate vineyards: Tempranillo from El Cuento at 415 meters and Viura from Cuatroencias at 500 meters. Orlegi combines whole-cluster fermentation and standard fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel to emphasize the fruit purity of the wine. The result is a classic, fresh and food-friendly Rioja perfect for everyday drinking.

About the Winemaker
Luberri - Familia Monje Amestoy, based in Elciego in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, is led by Florentino Martínez Monje—a self-made man passionate about his small wine-growing region that few know as well as he does. Florentino's determination has successfully combined modernity and tradition at this family winery, creating distinctive Tempranillo-based wines that express the unique character of this corner of Rioja.
Florentino energetically leads the winery with a commitment to progress while honoring roots. The estate name Luberri represents a life project expressing their way of understanding wine, living it, and enjoying it—transmitting something simple yet profound: a personality of its own. Their base of unquestionable quality comes from the Tempranillo grape native to Rioja Alavesa, grown on white limestone soils amidst the constant flow of the Ebro river, with the Sierra's forests as backdrop.
Farming & Cellar: The Monje Amestoy family practices viticulture of detail—every step from pruning to harvest is carried out with precision. Wines are vinified following the traditional carbonic maceration process characteristic of Rioja Alavesa, where whole clusters undergo intracellular fermentation to impart aromatic intensity, vibrant color, and high acidity. Their natural wine 'Florus' (an affectionate reference to Florentino) is made and bottled according to lunar cycles with no added sulfites, fermenting in clay amphorae.
