About the Winemaker
Domaine Hughes-Béguet, located in Mesnay in the Jura's Arbois appellation, produces experimental natural wines under the guidance of vigneron and winemaker Patrice Béguet.
Patrice left a busy career in IT in Paris to return to his birthplace in Jura and pursue his dream of making natural wine. Drawing inspiration from his love of jazz and the diverse Jura landscape—mountains, fields, forests—his range of wines is electric, textural, and complex. He lives and works amongst this beautiful greenery with his children, strongly believing in minimal intervention and healthy living.
Farming & Cellar: Certified biodynamic with Demeter, the approximately 4-hectare estate cultivates primarily Savagnin for whites and Ploussard for reds. Patrice uses no synthetic products, ferments only with wild yeasts present on the grapes, and adds minimal sulphites. Custom blends and long ferments create unique character, with wines that are expressive, complex, and a joy to experience.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
