This sparkling wine is made entirely in-house using the méthode traditionelle. After initial fermentation in underground cement tanks, the wine undergoes a secondary fermentation in bottle and is aged on the lees for nine months. The dosage of 5.7g/L (Brut) was chosen to accent the freshness and aromatics and was done with grape must from estate fruit. The grapes all come from the 2020 harvest in this release of Orgueil. About the Winemaker

Louise Chéreau Vigneronne is the personal project of Louise Chéreau, part of the fifth generation of the renowned Chéreau Carré family, pioneers of quality Muscadet from the Loire Valley.

The Chéreau Carré legacy, built by Bernard Chéreau and his wife, established Muscadet as a serious wine through meticulous viticulture and extended lees aging. Louise's "Vices & Vertus" project honors this heritage while exploring more experimental, low-intervention winemaking, creating wines that push beyond traditional Muscadet boundaries while respecting the terroir.

Farming & Cellar: Working with estate vineyards in the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation, Louise practices sustainable agriculture and extended sur lie aging. Her approach combines family knowledge of the region's granitic and gneiss soils with a willingness to experiment with skin contact and minimal intervention, resulting in wines of remarkable freshness and complexity.
