About the Winemaker

Day Wines, founded in 2012 by winemaker Brianne Day in Oregon's Willamette Valley, is a boutique producer crafting artisanal wines from fruit sourced exclusively from biodynamic, organic, and sustainable growers across Oregon.

What started as a 125-case operation has grown to nearly 20,000 cases annually—representing 16,000% growth in just over a decade. Brianne works with an extraordinary 25+ grape varieties from 32 vineyards, embracing Oregon's incredible diversity. A 2017 Wine Enthusiast 40 Under 40 Tastemaker and 2020 James Beard Award Semi-finalist, Brianne discovered her passion for wine during a religious mission to Italy at age 19. After eight years traveling through 80+ wine regions—including crucial experience at The Eyrie Vineyards and Domaine Huber Verdereau in Burgundy—she launched Day Wines to create wines that are "a time capsule of a specific time and place."

Farming & Cellar: Day Wines prioritizes fruit from farmers Brianne knows and trusts, with a majority being women-owned operations, all focused on long-term sustainability. In the cellar, she employs wild native yeast fermentations exclusively, no additives except minimal SO?, and pioneered co-fermentation techniques in 2014. Her approach aims to make wine that "expresses the site clearly, is healthy for the grower and consumer, and interacts with our world in a way that has the least negative impact as possible."
