Origin: Rogue Valley, Oregon
USNW Classification: Natural
Varietal & Type: 100% Cabernet Franc
One of our favorite Red wines at the moment. Deep Down is a Cab Franc with all the best parts of a Cab Franc. White pepper, earth, deep red berries, and a medium body that lends itself to any occasion. Sans pyrazine green pepper notes, this is the go-to cab franc of the season.
From the winemaker: "Deep Down presents a deep garnet color and strong aromas of roasting red New Mexican chiles, Australian licorice and brown butter. Dried cherries, rhubarb pie, sunflower seeds and wet stone arrive in succession with a pleasant finish.
Deep Down is intended to be a stand alone drinker. Meant to be shared, discussed and enjoyed. But, it will pair nicely with a meal and lend its character to any table."
About the Vineyard
The Rogue Valley is also one of the best regions to produce Cabernet Franc in the world. A real Goldilox zone, its warm enough to get the grapes ripe but cool enough to keep sugars low and allow the winemaker to choose the style.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at 10am in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
Shipping cost is 18 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value!
At $18, we have some of the most competitive shipping rates compared to other low-intervention wine e-commerce, which can range from $20-$25 a box. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. As a small business, we are simply unable to offer free shipping. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
