About the Winemaker

Cidre Intrus is a natural cidery in the heart of Quebec City, founded by co-owner Pierre-Édouard Perron and originally three high school friends—Gabriel Boutin, Simon Rooney, and Charles Lapointe—who started experimenting with cider in a garage. The name 'Intrus' (Intruder) reflects their outsider origins in the cider industry.

Pierre-Édouard and Gabriel were cooks with no background in alcohol production. When a planned internship in Sweden fell through during the pandemic, they decided to jump into cider full-time. In 2024, following the departure of the original partners, Pierre-Édouard was joined by Cynthia Lee as co-owner. Together they've set up an urban cidery in the St-Malo industrial park, pushing Quebec's unique place in the global natural cider scene.

Farming & Cellar: Cidre Intrus produces ciders naturally with as little intervention as possible. They partner with local orchards on Île d'Orléans, where 50-year-old trees are cared for by three generations of farmers. They purchase 'declassified' apples—those that fall or are deemed unsuitable for sale—reducing waste while blending with wild-foraged fruits like black currants and elderberries. It's a taste of Quebec's backyard in every bottle.

US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.

Shipping cost is 35 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value! Remember, all orders over $200 get FREE SHIPPING!

At $35, shipping cost is on par with most wine ecommerce. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
