About the Winemaker
Populis is the sister label of Les Lunes Wine, created by Shaunt Oungoulian and Diego Roig in California. While Les Lunes is rooted in estate-grown fruit, Populis explores a wider range of expressions by sourcing fruit from a network of trusted organic and sustainable growers across California.
Shaunt Oungoulian and Diego Roig are California's premier natural farming-winemaking duo. They lease and farm their own vineyards and built their own cellar in the basement of Shaunt's parents' house in Orinda to stay hands-on at every step. This allows them to produce wine without interference from other wineries' yeasts. They manage over 8 hectares of vineyards in Sonoma and Napa, committed 100% to organic farming.
Farming & Cellar: By focusing efforts in the vineyard—pruning, suckering, and farming thoughtfully—they preserve native microbes that create healthy, complex wines. Populis wines are made with minimal intervention and native fermentations from growers in Mendocino, Lodi, and the Sierra Foothills. They make no additions save for a small dose of sulfur before bottling if needed, determined barrel by barrel.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.

At $35, shipping cost is on par with most wine ecommerce. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
