Mouvedre 2023
Mouvedre 2023
Mouvedre is the grape that has been used in all vintages of Lightsome to date, and absolutely have been my favorite representations of the grape, maybe anywhere in the world. Explosion of bramble berry with none of the overly earthy, meaty, and tar like flavors that you might expect from a poorly made mouvedre

About the Winemaker
Lightsome Wines is a woman-owned label founded by Adrienne Ballou in the Texas Hill Country, focused on producing thoughtful wines from locally sourced fruit. Based in Stonewall, Texas, Lightsome is dedicated to making wines that express vineyard sites and vintage character through a low-intervention approach.
Adrienne brings a meticulous, hands-off philosophy to Texas winemaking, allowing the fruit to speak for itself. Working with grapes from vineyards in the Texas Hill Country and Texas High Plains, she produces small-batch wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Lone Star State's growing natural wine movement.
Farming & Cellar: Lightsome's wines reflect a low-intervention approach with minimal manipulation in the winery. The range includes Mediterranean varieties well-suited to Texas—Grenache Blanc, Mourvèdre, Montepulciano, and Aglianico—along with a Sparkling Mourvèdre and field blends. Each wine speaks of the fruit that built it, capturing the character of Texas terroir.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
Shipping cost is 35 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value! Remember, all orders over $200 get FREE SHIPPING!
At $35, shipping cost is on par with most wine ecommerce. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
