About the Winemaker

Margins Wine was founded in 2016 by Megan Bell in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA of California, driven by a mission to highlight underrepresented grapes, regions, and vineyards.

With training from UC Davis and apprenticeships in Napa, Willamette Valley, Central Otago, and the Loire Valley, Megan champions lesser-known varieties like Chenin Blanc, Assyrtiko, Counoise, and Sagrantino alongside Pinot Noir. Production grew to 2,800 cases annually of over 20 different wines.

Farming & Cellar: All grapes from organically farmed vineyards. Native yeast fermentation, minimal SO2, no temperature control, fining, or filtration. Margins ceased production in 2026, but its legacy of supporting organic farmers and promoting equity in wine continues.

US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.

Shipping cost is 35 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value! Remember, all orders over $200 get FREE SHIPPING!

At $35, shipping cost is on par with most wine ecommerce. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!Â
