"Bursting with juicy red fruit backed by pleasant notes of spiciness, licorice and barnyard leather. This blend is laced with soft minerality, and tiny bubbles that dissipate some time after opening. Great with beef, lamb, mature cheese, and spicy cuisine."

About the Winemaker

Les Sabots d'Hélène is the domaine of Alban Michel, a self-described "pificulteur" (wine peasant) who has been making natural wine in the Corbières since 2005. Based in the Languedoc's rugged interior, Alban produces bold, unfiltered wines with playful names and distinctive personality.

Alban Michel is known as much for his irreverent spirit as his wines. His cuvée names—like "Ni dieu Ni maitre Ni sulfite" (Neither God Nor Master Nor Sulfites) and "Pogo"—reflect a punk-rock attitude toward winemaking. He has become a cult figure among natural wine enthusiasts for his expressive, fruit-forward wines that challenge convention.

Farming & Cellar: Les Sabots d'Hélène farms organically in the garrigue-covered hills of Corbières. Alban works with traditional southern varieties including Carignan, Grenache, and Macabeu. Fermentation is spontaneous, and wines are bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulfites. Some cuvées are aged in terracotta amphora, adding texture and complexity.

US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.

Shipping cost is 35 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value! Remember, all orders over $200 get FREE SHIPPING!

At $35, shipping cost is on par with most wine ecommerce. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
