This beautiful pétillant is made almost entirely of Moscato Giallo, with a touch of Procanico in the mix. The wine spent just over two years on the lees in bottle before disgorgement, allowing it to garner a little complexity and finesse. Golden in the glass, it draws you in with playful notes of wildflowers, whilst the palate offers a pleasant, pithy bitterness that brings refreshment and intrigue.

About the Winemaker

Le Coste, located in Gradoli in northern Lazio, Italy, is run by Gianmarco Antonuzzi and Clémentine Bouveron. Situated on the volcanic soils surrounding Lake Bolsena, the estate has become one of Italy's most celebrated natural wine producers, known for wines made with indigenous yeasts, unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulfur.

Gianmarco Antonuzzi, originally from Rome, and his French partner Clémentine Bouveron discovered this remarkable terroir on the volcanic crater lake. They work with indigenous grape varieties including Procanico (Trebbiano), Aleatico, Sangiovese, and Cesanese. Their approach combines ancient tradition with modern natural winemaking philosophy, creating wines that express their unique volcanic terroir with remarkable purity and energy.

Farming & Cellar: The estate is certified biodynamic, with vineyards planted on volcanic soils that impart distinctive minerality. In the cellar, wines are made with indigenous yeasts, no added sulfur, and no fining or filtration. Extended maceration and skin contact are employed to draw out the full expression of each variety. The combination of ancient volcanic terroir and zero-intervention winemaking produces wines of extraordinary character and sense of place.
