About the Winemaker

Ananda, founded in 2016 by Edoardo Sacchetto in the Euganean Hills (Colli Euganei) of Veneto, Italy, is a small-production natural winery whose name derives from the Sanskrit word meaning "inner bliss or beatitude."

Edoardo Sacchetto's journey into winemaking blends family heritage with profound personal philosophy. While his family historically farmed olive groves and made wine for personal consumption, Edoardo developed his vision through travels including exploring alternative technologies in Wales and studying Hindu philosophy. He returned to the Euganean Hills—known for volcanic and calcareous soils—with a clear intention: to produce wines that are expressions of harmony and joy. He tends 2-3 hectares, including access to plots with 100-120 year old vines.

Farming & Cellar: The vineyards are farmed biodynamically according to lunar cycles, with chickens and ducks managing weeds naturally instead of mowing. Treatments are minimal (3-5 times yearly). All fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, extended skin maceration up to 15 days for orange wines, and aging in neutral fiberglass or stainless steel to preserve terroir expression. Edoardo is a "zero-zero" producer—no fining, no filtration, and zero sulfur dioxide added at any stage of winemaking.
