Holiday Table Wines

Turkey, ham, a table full of sides and an uncle with opinions. Holiday dinners pull in a lot of flavors at once, so we lean on wines with bright acid and not too much weight: light reds, Gamay, Pinot, Chenin and Riesling that go with all of it.

For reds, Le Nez de Goth's Viva La Durasss and Oxymore's Saine Folie are juicy Gamay, Maxime Crotet's Bourgogne Passe-Tout-Grains blends Gamay and Pinot Noir, and Little Trouble's Tiny Horse Pinot Noir is an easy crowd-pleaser. Mersel Wine's Red Velvet and Domaine de la Goguette's La Siesta are chillable light reds. For whites, Le Nadir's L'Amant is Chenin Blanc and Léo Dirringer's Pur Jus is a Riesling, Sylvaner and Auxerrois blend from Alsace. And for the toast, Champagne André Beaufort.

Rule of thumb: plan on about one bottle for every two guests, chill the light reds for 20 minutes, and open the bubbles first.
