Hell Yes to Argentinian concrete tank fermened Malbec. This wine is juicy and big and round without all of the dredded burnt chocolate notes that you can get from overoaked Malbec. Cab Sauv brings some nice blue/purple fruit to the equation. This is a steal at the pricepoint.

About the Winemaker
Traslapiedra was founded by four friends who gathered to make exciting wines from the Marine Desert known as "ParajeAltamira". Grapes are mainly sourced from Finca Suarez, the oldest vines in Paraje Altamira and which sit in the heart of the Altamira and next door to world-renowned producer, Zuccardi. The wines are vinified with minimal intervention, including native yeasts, and used barrels + concrete eggs, with the intent to deliver an honest representation of the Paraje Altamira. A hallmark of Traslapiedra's wines: a chalky texture, minerality, and fresh fruit, a departure from the over-oaked, ponderous Malbecs of yesterday. Juanfa Suarez and Santiago Garriga are cousins and descendants of the Suarez family. They spend every summer at the vineyard together with the rest of the Suarez clan. The homestead has a beautiful backdrop with the Andes seemingly so close you could touch them.
