About the Winemaker
Domaine des Deux Clés, founded in 2015 by Gaëlle and Florian Richter in the village of Fontjoncouse in the Corbières appellation of Languedoc, is a 14-hectare estate producing distinctive biodynamic wines with a Burgundian spirit.
Gaëlle, a Burgundian oenologist trained in Dijon, and Florian, the son of a German wine importer who studied at Geisenheim University, met in 2009 while working at Maison Champy in Burgundy—where they first discovered biodynamic viticulture. After gaining experience at estates including Lokoya, Château Beaucastel, and Domaine du Pégau, they found their paradise in the Hautes-Corbières, purchasing old vines (some over 111 years old) on steep hillsides at 275-350 meters elevation. Their wines are already featured at three-Michelin-starred Auberge du Vieux Puits in their village.
Farming & Cellar: All vineyards are Demeter-certified biodynamic or in conversion. The unique microclimate—2-4°C cooler than surrounding areas due to higher altitude and north-northeast exposures—preserves freshness and acidity. In the cellar, Gaëlle applies Burgundian techniques: low-pressure pneumatic pressing, fermentation in 228L French oak barrels, gentle rackings, and light bâtonnage for whites. Reds undergo whole cluster and whole berry fermentation with minimal sulfur added only after malolactic fermentation. All wines are bottled without fining or filtration.
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at noon in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
Shipping cost is 35 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value! Remember, all orders over $200 get FREE SHIPPING!
