Jake's Picks 1/14

Hi there. Just wanted to feature a couple wines I was digging right now. Each Week, I will walk around the warehouse and pick 6 wines that seem fitting with the mood.

  1. Muller Koeberle Soixant. Naturally made sparkling wine from Alsace, no sulfur, no dosage, aged for 10 years. Just absolutely delicious and rivals aged growers' champagnes for 10x the price. Get it while you can.
  2. Fedora Wines - Goli Breg White 2019. It's cold out. this textural, appropriately aged white wine from Slovenia will warm you right up.
  3. Madame Flock - Schmetterling: Maybe my favorite orange wine from 2024, this is an unconventional Mosel co-ferment of Riesling and Muller-Thurgau that will take you on an absolute adventure with each sip.
  4. Drood - The Master Saadi: Just in, this wine feels forbidden and foreign in the best way. Great way to cheat on your dry January. Persian grapes shipped and vinified in Sweden. New varietals to me, wine drinks light and complex. Sour cherry, blueberry, pine, pepper, tumeric.
  5. Jean-Pierre Robinot - Le Regard. Everyone rightfully so talks a big game for Loire Chenin, but if you haven't experienced Loire Pineau d'Aunis (No pun intended), you are in for a treat. Made by one of the best, think Pinot Noir, but the fruit and white pepper got some social skills and want to party.
  6. Pedro Parra - Bluepit Pais 2021. I like generally introducing folks to Pais because it is delicious and comes at a value, whether it is a pipeno crusher or something more serious. This one is more serious, by one of the best to ever do it.
