Chenin might be the best grape, and this is a super affordable version of it from Chile. Goes through full malolactic fermantation, which means you are going to get exciting fruit on the front of the pallet like aprioct, peach, pair, along with a long finish of Subtle hazlenut and butter.Stunner for not a lot.

Tasting Notes
Notes of fruits such as hazelnut, apricot, peach, pear, linked with a touch of butter. On the palate it is a light and easy to drink wine, with balanced acidity.

About the Winemaker
Moretta Wines was founded by best friends Natalia Poblete Saez and Maria Jose Ortuzar Allessandri. Both Maria and Natalia spent time as assistant winemaker with Santa Rita Estates in Chile among other stops, including William Cole (Casablanca), Casa Bauza, Don Melchor and Yarra Burn (AU). Moretta Wines was founded on a dream to faithfully bring forth the true terroir of the Maule Valley. 2023 was an exciting year for Maria and Natalia. They were able to purchase the 4 hectare Guzman farm, the source of the Carigno, Ceniciento and Vedette wines. The vines were planted in the 1920’s and 30’s and the farm exudes an authentic rustic quality. In the cellar, native yeasts are used, typically in open bin wooden casks, and ageing is accomplished with neutral oak barrels. Production is small – ~20,000 bottles – with the Carigno and Vedette rarely exceeding 3,000 bottles/year.
