About the Winemaker

Tom Gautier and Miha Trifa, two spirited and unconventional winemakers, brought something truly unique to the Languedoc in 2016 with the creation of L’Absurde Génie des Fleurs. What started as a negoce project, sourcing fruit from friends like François Aubry, Remi Poujol, and Julien Peyras, evolved over time. After four vintages, they secured 5.5 hectares of their own vines, growing varieties such as cinsault, aramon, carignan, grand noir de la calmette, morastel, mourvèdre, terret, and chardonnay. Even after a personal split in 2019, Tom and Miha refused to let their winemaking vision fade. They continued the journey from a series of garages in Bédarieux, ultimately finding a larger space in 2023. Their wines—bottled in playful, crowned-capped bottles adorned with Miha’s striking, esoteric artwork—are named in honor of Miha’s Romanian roots, reflecting their meticulous, modern approach to winemaking. With a heart full of passion and a defiant spirit, it's no wonder their work has been embraced by the Languedoc and the wider wine community.

Shipping Details

US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at 10am in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck. Shipping cost is 30 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value!
