Outstanding expression of Tempranillo that will make you question why you ever questioned Texas Wine. Løng live's project "Tinto Fino" Tempranillo delivers a bright and fresh wine with yet a very structured tannin profile. Tasting notes of Sandstone, Cherrywood, and Pie Crust.  This is a very special wine and warrants a special occasion with special people.

If you don't believe me, this wine caught notice at Wild World Festival in brooklyn back in March. Coined by Disgorgeous' John McCarrol as the ultimate "DILF" wine. To list to Cooper talk about the wine, skip to 45:50: https://www.stitcher.com/show/disgorgeous/episode/episode-183-friendsgiving-main-course-mixed-case-recorded-at-wild-world-festival-88469285

If you care at all about tech, this wine was Hand-harvested, 10 days tank native ferment, with an extra 4 days of extended contact after going dry. Destemmed. Punch downs and pump overs. For this vintage, Cooper his stems on a baking sheet and placed in a 130 degree smoker to airdry. He then added to the must to bring a more mature tannin profile to the wine. This technique is really what makes this wine unique and is likely a contributing factor to why it has gotten so much positive attention.

About the Winemaker & Farm

Løng Live is the personal production of The Austin Winery's co-founder and head winemaker Cooper Anderson. In this project, Cooper invests in his own harvest and has the individual freedom to dig into any new techniques or styles that might be exciting at the time. No Filters.

Fun fact, "Løng Live" is named after Cooper's favorite album Long Live by The Chariot... one of America's great Hardcore bands.

Grapes were picked at Robert Clay Vineyard, Mason, Tx. Texas Hill Country. This is a unique site with special topography and soil composition. Mason has large deposits of topaz (the state gem) in the soil and even in the top soil. The vineyard is rich with sandstone bedrock. We think the minerality and earth-toned fruits to the wine are very expressive of the site.
