AROMATIC. A rich yellow in color. The nose is a medley of fruit, like pineapple, peach, and orange, with pungent grassy and floral aromas. The palate contrast the nose, with leaner fruits of lime and lemon, with hints of pine and salt. Structurally refreshing, with high acid and just an ounce of tannin.

20h of maceration and spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. Each variety is fermented separately, then blended after all fermentations are done.

About the Winemaker

Ploder Rosenberg

Ploder-Rosenberg is a family estate, located in Vulkanland Steiermark. It spans over 11 hectares (27 acres) of vineyards. With Manuel Ploder, the winery is now in its third generation, but the real pivot happened in 2005 when the family converted to biodynamic farming and started to focus on PiWi (fungus resistant) varieties. Today, 70 to 75 percent of their vineyards are planted with PiWis, with Souvignier Gris being the primary grape.

With Manuel’s takeover in 2011, the winery took the next step in its development. He changed the style and started pursuing low intervention winemaking. He is joined by his partner, Selina Weratschnig, but is also still aided by his parents, Maria and Aldred. Manuel and Selina are free-spirited individuals, often seen walking barefoot, and the new wines at Ploder-Rosenberg reflect this. Their life and wine philosophy are rooted in the notion that everything is interconnected in nature and that humans are a link that has a strong influence on it.

US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at 10am in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.

Shipping cost is 18 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value!

At $18, we have some of the most competitive shipping rates compared to other low-intervention wine e-commerce, which can range from $20-$25 a box. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. As a small business, we are simply unable to offer free shipping.
