These Chenin Blanc vines come from pre-historic times for California (1978...) Likely planted just before Rondawg Reagan decided only Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon were allowed to be grown. My history is really bad, but the fruit is incredible and the Lofi team takes a really low-intervention approach to make sure the wine is its best expression. Whole-Cluster press, native primary and malolactic fermentation, stored in neutral oak.
Origin: Santa Barbara County, California

About the Vineyard
Jurassic Park Vineyard is located in Los Olivos, Santa Barbara County, California (34 43’43”N 120 08’46” W). It was planted by the Firestone family and vineyard manager Jeff Newton in 1982. The soil series Arnold Sand, consists of well drained sands over soft sandstone. The vineyard is at an elevation of 1000ft, with a slight west north-west row orientation. The trellis and training are a single catch and California sprawl.
About the Winemaker
"
Lo-Fi is a partnership between two lifelong friends who believe in hand crafted honest wines that are made for every day drinking. Wines to be enjoyed not to be collected. Easy drinking lower alcohol wines made to pair well with all types of foods, from pizza to paté.
We believe in neutral barrels, native yeasts, little to no sulfur additions, and no adjustment of pH. We love whole cluster fermentation. We adore carbonic maceration . We embrace a nothing added, nothing taken away philosophy that gives birth to wines that are young, vibrant and alive.
But in all reality Lo-Fi is less about what it is and more about what it is not.
It is not over manipulated. It is not over extracted. It is not over ripe and it is not over priced.
Less is more.
Drink up!
Mike & Craig."
Shipping Details
US Natural Wine ships once a week, every Wednesday. All orders should be placed by Tuesday at 10am in order to be picked up from our distributors and out on Wednesday's delivery truck.
Shipping cost is 18 bucks a box (up to 12 bottles) so we highly encourage picking up more than 1 bottle for the best value!
At $18, we have some of the most competitive shipping rates compared to other low-intervention wine e-commerce, which can range from $20-$25 a box. Ultimately, we eat the cost of shipping more often than not because wine can be damn heavy. As a small business, we are simply unable to offer free shipping. We can't thank you enough for your understanding!
